In the 31st week of the Persian year 1404 (mid-October 2025), the volume of electricity traded on the Iran Energy Exchange reached 3.7 billion kilowatt-hours, with a total value of 11 trillion Rials.
According to the Electricity Market Deputy, quoting the Public Relations Department of the Iran Energy Exchange, a total of 3.695 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were traded across all market boards during the past week, reaching a total value of 11.428 trillion Rials.
On the physical electricity board, 1.601 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity generated by large-scale thermal power plants were traded physically, with a total transaction value of 2.634 trillion Rials.
Meanwhile, 1.668 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from thermal plants were traded as forward contracts on the electricity derivatives board, with a total value of 2.508 trillion Rials.
In the third week of October 2025, 3.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity generated by large-scale thermal power plants were physically traded on the physical electricity board, while the green derivatives board hosted trades of 17.9 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity as forward contracts.
Additionally, 384 million kilowatt-hours of electricity generated by small-scale and distributed generation plants were traded competitively on the free physical electricity board, with a total transaction value of 5.179 trillion Rials.
