By the End of Khordad 1404 (June 20, 2025), Capacity Certificate Contract Volume Reached 2,549 MW

According to a report by the Over-the-Counter Electricity Transactions Management Office, from the launch of the Capacity Certificate Market in 1398 (beginning March 21, 2019) up to the end of Khordad 1404 (June 20, 2025), the total volume of capacity certificate contract transactions on the Iran Energy Exchange reached 2,549 megawatts.

As reported by the Electricity Market Deputy, a total of 1,064 capacity certificate trades have been conducted so far, with a cumulative value of 83,987 billion Rials, and a maximum price of around 106 million Rials per kilowatt.

It is also worth noting that, to date, 408 consumers with loads above 5 megawatts, representing a total demand of 5,250 megawatts, have been referred to the Iran Energy Exchange for the purchase of capacity certificates. On the supply side, 1,696 megawatts of capacity certificates are currently available for trade on the exchange.

Notably, in Khordad 1404 (May 21 – June 20, 2025), a total of 11 capacity certificate contracts with an aggregate volume of 5 megawatts and a total value of 500 billion Rials were traded in the Iran Energy Exchange.
